What is "Dog Flu"?
Canine Influenza H3N8 (a.k.a. "Dog Flu") is a highly contagious virus. All dogs and puppies are at risk, regardless of age, gender, or breed. In the past few years, the flu has continued to spread to over 30 states, including Texas.
A vaccine was recently introduced by Schering-Plough to help protect dogs and puppies against "Dog Flu". The new shot comes in 2-parts - the first shot, then a "booster" shot is given 2-4 weeks later. Each part is $15.00 at the clinic. The "year 2" vaccination is a single-shot treatment.
